Our Club
Dress code.
Panmure observes a traditional dress code on the course and across the clubhouse. The requirements differ between rooms.
Smart golfing attire is required on the course. Within the clubhouse, the requirements vary between the 19th Hole, the Hogan Lounge and the Dalhousie Room. No member of staff is permitted to grant exceptions.
The following are not permitted anywhere on club premises:
- Collarless shirts, t-shirts, football or rugby shirts
- Denim jeans of any colour
- Cargo-style trousers or shorts
- Tracksuits
Smart golfing attire
Spiked or spikeless golf shoes required throughout.
- Gentlemen: Tailored trousers without external pockets, collared shirts tucked in, or tailored shorts. Headwear with front-facing peaks acceptable.
- Ladies: Conventional golf attire — knee-length shorts, cropped trousers, fitted polo shirts.
No headwear, no beachwear
Headwear must be removed on entering the clubhouse. Beach attire of any kind is not permitted indoors.
An extension of the course
Course dress is permitted. Shorts and hoodies are acceptable here, in keeping with post-round informality.
Smart casual, minimum
Smart casual wear must be worn as a minimum. Shorts and waterproofs are not permitted. Spikeless golf shoes are acceptable provided they are clean.
Jacket and tie
A tailored jacket and tie must be worn by gentlemen at all times in the Dalhousie Room. Matching formal attire is required for ladies. The Dalhousie Room is the principal dining room of the club and the standard applies for breakfast, lunch and dinner service throughout the season.
The dress code is published and enforced by the committee. Staff members are not permitted to grant exceptions; please assist them by arriving correctly dressed. Visitors are warmly encouraged to confirm requirements with the Office in advance of arrival, particularly when joining members for dinner.
