Visitors

The clubhouse.

One of the finest old golf buildings in Scotland — modelled on the Royal Calcutta Golf Club, reflecting Dundee's nineteenth-century trading ties with India.

The clubhouse

Wood-panelled rooms, a long bar, and Scottish cooking done plainly and well.

Architecture

Modelled on the Royal Calcutta.

The Panmure clubhouse is one of the finest old golf buildings in Scotland. Its design reflects the trading ties between Dundee and Calcutta in the nineteenth century — and the architectural influence those ties left across Tayside.

Three distinct lounges across the building offer different dress code standards and atmospheres — from the casual 19th Hole at one end to the formal Dalhousie Room at the other.

The rooms

The 19th Hole

Casual

The bar that opens onto the terrace and the eighteenth green. Course dress permitted. Open from the first tee time to the last. A proper pint, sandwiches, single malts from the local distillery.

The Hogan Lounge

Smart casual

Wood-panelled lounge with the trophy cabinet — items in it date from the founding of the club in 1845. The Hogan menu is served here daily and the room is available for private dining on request.

The Dalhousie Room

Jacket and tie

The principal dining room of the club. High ceilings, original wood panelling, views down the eighteenth fairway. Tailored jacket and tie required for gentlemen at all times. Breakfast is served daily from 9.00am.

Practice & Changing

Recently renovated

Visitor changing rooms include clothing lockers and shower facilities. A new short-game chipping and bunker area opened in May 2021. Range balls are provided by the Pro Shop.

Dining

Breakfast is served daily from 9.00am with a selection of locally sourced produce. The Hogan menu is available throughout the day for lighter dining. The Dalhousie Room serves a Scottish menu with seafood from the Angus coast and beef from local farms — full details on the dining page.

Members and visitors

Members and visitors are welcome in all areas of the clubhouse, subject to the relevant dress code. The dining rooms are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner during the season. Catering teams are happy to accommodate dietary requirements with advance notice.
